What do we do?
Riverside Nature Center is a member supported 501(c)(3) organization that increases environmental awareness through education, demonstration, and by example. We offer gentle guidance for all ages to explore and discover nature.

Is there an admission fee?
There is no admission fee. We do encourage donations so we may continue to offer this unique experience at no charge.

Is Riverside Nature Center a branch of the City of Kerrville?
No. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. We do not receive any funding from the city of Kerrville. We are one of the trailheads for the city’s River Trail.

Yes. Our education rooms and pavilion are available for rent for meetings and private events. For pricing and more details, visit the Our Programs/Host your Event at RNC section or simply click on this question.

Informal tours are available with one of our Riverside Guides during normal business hours. A formal tour and/or program may be arranged through our Naturalist. Student/group field trips may also be arranged by contacting our Naturalist, or make your request and see additional information by clicking this question.

Are pets allowed?
Riverside Nature Center is a wildlife sanctuary. To preserve a safe and inviting habitat for our avian, reptile, amphibian, and small mammal residents, pets are not allowed on the premises.

Are the trails wheelchair accessible?
The 700 foot crushed granite trail that meanders through the arboretum is wheelchair accessible. Our back porch and patio offer a wide view of the wildscape and bird viewing area if maneuvering the trail is found to be difficult.
