Jane Harris
While raising my four daughters, I completed a doctoral degree in English Composition and Rhetoric. A planned career in university teaching changed course into a 23-year career in public school education and administration. After retiring from school administration in 2018, the first place I volunteered was Riverside Nature Center. Though I worked other jobs for four additional years, RNC has felt like my second home from the start. I was so excited to become a member of the staff two years ago! I love the quiet of coming in early to complete my work so that our public face is as clean and supportive as it can be. I believe in our mission of outreach and education and take deep pride in being part of the RNC team. As my picture shows, I also love providing habitat, food, and water for the birds around my home!
