Jennifer Dean
Jennifer joined the Riverside Nature Center board in 2026. She has two grown kids who live too far away and two dogs and two cats who live with her and her partner in their Kerrville home. She enjoys wildlife and nature photography and spends most of her free time outdoors along the river. Professionally, Jennifer is a journalist with the The Kerr County Lead, and a product marketing manager for Imagine Learning. She has a master’s degree in English and doctorate in education. She taught high school English, college writing, and university research courses, and prior to teaching, she covered a community news/parenting beat for a Southern California newspaper. She raised her two kids on that beat, regularly taking them to events just like those held at RNC.
Jennifer notes that the history is what drew her to the center. Jennifer says that she really likes the education focus, and is continually impressed by the collaborative nature of the programming and riparian work that’s fueled by so many great partner organizations and volunteers, and, of course, the wonderful RNC staff.
